 Help save the life of a child.  Vasya, 3 months, Vladivostok, RUSSIA - heart disease!!!

Vasya story.

Vasya was born with congenital heart disease. He underwent an operation right after birth, but  the disease was not eliminated, since he was too small and would not come through a complex and complicated operation. After the surgery physicians fought for his life within month and a half. After two-month medical treatment in cardio-center we had been discharged and went home.

 Next operations were planned to be done in a half a year, but Vasya’s health has become worse in a month after  we had been discharged. Cardiac decompensation is growing, he breaths with difficulties, does not put on weight, since blood is not enriched with oxygen, he can't normally sleep at night. Vasya has a complicated congenital heart disease: the nature has entangled the right half of the heart with the left one. According to prognoses, without surgery  Vasya would live two months as a maximum . Physicians plan to eliminate a mistake of the nature and ‘turn up’ the heart in the right way. But this is very complex and complicated operation, and where is no enough experience of doing such operations in Russia. Concomitant complications of disease  and very little age make the case very complex and tough.

Vasya is 3 months old now,  therefore the prognosis of doing such a surgery in Russia is unfavorable. A huge positive experience of doing such operations exists in Germany. Berlin Cardio-center DHZB is ready to take Vasya for medical treatment. The Vasya’s state is becoming worse and German surgeons insist on doing surgery not later than June 2012.

Vasiliy is the second child in our family, my husband is the only working parent now. Besides the payment for the medical treatment we need means for air transportation, for accommodation in Berlin and for medicaments. It is impossible for us to accumulate such sum by ourselves. On operation 56820 Euros are necessary!
